Day 1

Day 1 of Medical Leave Due to the Covid-19 situation in Singapore, all patients displaying any respiratory symptoms will be given a 5 day medical leave. This includes me.  I was experiencing some cough and itchy throat and had decided to see a doctor yesterday night; and I was slapped with a 5 day medical leave. Anyone who's slapped with this 5 day leave  must not leave their homes starting on the day the medical certificate is issued, according to the latest update of the Infectious Diseases Act made by the Ministry of Health (MOH). Those who did not comply will be liable to a fine of up to $10,000 or up to a six-month imprisonment, or both. They can leave only to seek medical attention. Since I'm stuck at home, here's what I had done: 1) Took pictures with Google's 3D animals Who let the dog in?! I don't know how he came in. Hmmm... Apparently the raccoon snuck in too. 2) Fixed my noisy fan (we shall see if it works) 3) C...

DIY Toys for Kimchimon

I had a T-shirt that Kimchimon likes the penguin print so much that I had decided to make a rattle toy based on the print. This post will take you through the steps to DIY your own penguin rattle toy and a busy board. Here's the step-by-step on how to do it: Materials you will need: - Plastic from cornflakes packaging or crinkly paper - Fabric of different texture ( I used felt, jeans, FBT shorts and my skirt) - 2 big and cute cute plastic buttons to attach the wings to the body (not too small, so they won't eat ingest it)  - ribbons if different colours and textures for sensory  - cotton for filling   Tools that you will need: - needle and thread for sewing or a sewing machine - scissors To start off, I ordered some cat bells and a teething toy on Shopee. I also went back to my mom's place to scour for some old clothes of mine for the body and ribbons to make the tags. Firstly, I drew the penguin pattern onto a piece of A4 size paper. You can download the patter...

Kimchimon's Photobook

IT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!  I ordered a photobook of Kimchimon on  Photobook Singapore  last week and it had arrived less than a week.  I bought a digital voucher on photobook and thought that it could be used on their app. I finished designing my photobook and was about to check out and realized that it only works on the website. I had start to add the photos from scratch again. Well, on the bright side, I get to choose from various designs on their website and it turned out great. 🥳🥳🥳 It took around 2 weeks from check out to our doorstep, considered fast during Covid. Here's how the photobook turned out: The quality of the paper was thick and glossy and the binding was good. The quality of the print was good too. Just have to make sure that the photos uploaded were not blur, if not they will turn out blur in the book too.  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me. What do you think? Did you make a photobook for your baby too? Or did you have other ideas of keeping some keepsak...

Juggling life

Mom Life. Stressed Life Mom. Wife. Daughter. Daughter-in-law. Employee. These are some of the roles I play everyday; i'm sure a lot of working moms can relate. Wake up. Mommy duties. Get ready for work. Commute. Work. Commute. Mommy duties. Sleep. That's how the the day starts and ends. There's basically no time for myself. Have to make sure Kimchimon's alright. Have enough money to make ends meet. Due to the Covid-19 situation now, we don't bring Kimchimon to my parents' place anymore. We used to bring him to spend the weekend there once a fortnight. My mom will drop by once a fortnight for a short while to play with Kimchimon. To be honest, I do miss my parents and I want to go back home alone sometimes.  Work is hectic and travelling to and from work takes three hours. This means waking up at 5.30am everyday. And only to reach home at 7.45pm. Sometimes I feel burnt out but let's just suck it in, cry it out and move on. 💪🏼 PS. I had no i...

Lunch and dinner for Kimchimon

Kimchimon just turned one in 2020. This means that he is able to eat more variety of food with less salt and sugar of course. This post talks about the food that I made for Kimchimon. I try to be creative with the menu so the food won't get repeated so often. Kimchimon's lunch menu then includes fish porridge with fish, carrot and cabbage and ban mian with mushroom and minced pork. He doesn't like the latter though. We struggled to make him eat!  I'm glad that he finished the porridge. Porridge with fish, carrot and cabbage Fortunately, Kimchimon finished his dinners that I prepared for him. Phew! On Saturday, he had mini pork burger with apple and blueberry sauce (a good way to hide fruits and vegetables for the little picky eaters). On Sunday, it's cheese omelette with mini bun and steamed potato. Mini pork burger with apple and blueberry sauce. Recipe for Mini pork burger can be found below. Remember to wash hands before preparing a...

Vermicelli Soup for Kimchimon

As Kimchimon grows up, I try to get creative with the food I make for him so it wouldn't be the same old menu everytime. This post was posted in 11 Mar 2020, when Kimchimon was one year old!  Lucky for me, Kimchimon will eat almost anything we gave him back then. Now, he's much more picky.  This post will be about fish vermicelli soup! I made vermicelli soup for him with threadfin with carrots and cabbage. He finished most of it as I had made extra. You can find the recipe below. Let me know if you had tried this recipe in the comments below!
